Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27, he was enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he graduated in 1995. In addition to his part in the drama series aired globally as The Killing, he subsequently played in two other critically highly acclaimed Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also had a leading part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, he was the president of Russia. He received an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his role on the Danish drama on television Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the title Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is proficient in English, Swedish and German. He is also able to speak various accents. According to Mikkelsen's sources that he and his younger brother learned English through Monty Python records.
