
Leona Louise Lewis (born on the 3rd April, 1985) is a British musician, singer, actress and activist. Her birthplace and childhood was in London Borough of Islington and went to Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis became famous as she won the third season on The X Factor 2006 and received a contract worth PS1,000,000 with Syco music. A cover of Kelly Clarkson's"A Moment Like This" was her prize. The album sold 50,000 downloads within less than 30 minutes. It also remained at number one for 4 weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a five-album contract in February of 2007. The success of Lewis continued after the launch of her first album of her own, Spirit (2007), which was certified platinum at 10x in the UK and became the fourth-highest-selling album of the decade and among the most popular albums sold in UK chart the history of chart. Spirit was, according to Official Charts Company is the greatest-selling debut album by a female singer. Its lead single "Bleeding Love" remains at the top of the UK charts for seven weeks, and was the single with the highest sales in 2007. In the US, it was the best-selling single of 2008 , and Lewis was proclaimed Best New Artist by Billboard the same year. Echo is her second studio album. She also wrote the track "I Love You" to accompany Avatar. Lewis' track "Collide," was an collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and also she released Hurt the EP. It was her debut extended performance. Glassheart (2012) is her 3rd studio album. Lewis drew inspiration from electronic and dubstep music. She started recording tracks for her debut Christmas album while on her Glassheart Tour, which took place in mid 2013. The following year, her Christmas with Love, which featured her lead single "One more sleep", reached number three across the UK. The chart's entry was what made Lewis the first British woman solo artist in the top five, with eight singles. Also, she overtook Olivia Newton-John's record for seven singles.
