Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American actor and singer, is a former model. She is known for co-starring in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain and for having been the lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6. When the two had a dispute over the direction of her career Apollonia 6 split up and Kotero ended her association with Prince. Following her appearance in minor movies (and reportedly refusing to participate on the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) her name was mentioned and she was a part of the 1985-86 show on television called Falcon Crest. Apollonia made her debut album in 1988, but the comparatively insignificant collection of dance and R&B songs did not impress those who bought music, and soon the album vanished out of sight. The singer was still active, though she wasn't in the spotlight acting in the decade that followed, with a few appearances in films and on television. An exercise DVD came out. Apollonia's album Stay With Me was released in 1997. Following her return to the university, she received a bachelor's degree in filmmaking and established her own business.
