Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actress, best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She received a BA at Brown University in African-American Studies. In the Tisch school of the arts, New York University she earned an MFA. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is a producer as well as an American actor who is active in theater in film, television, and theatre. Her career in acting began at the theatre. Then she appeared on numerous television shows as well as independent and mainstream movies. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she was praised by critics and received numerous nominations and awards including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. In 1995 she was the first actress to make her debut in The Tempest as Ariel. She's appeared in Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is renowned for her role in movies like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Her part as a regular in ABC's drama police series High Incident earned her praises.
